Can anybody advise me please
1) Is the wolseley 6/110 chassis the same as the healey 3000/6?
2) How much of the wolseley can be used to build a healey
3) Where could I find a healey chassis if the wolseley one can not be used?

Is this kind of project feasible or have I lost it!!

Many Thanks

Bob

The Wolseley wheelbase is shown as 9 ft 2 in ~2794 mm while the Healey's is shown as 2330mm. That alone would seem to make a swap an exceedingly dubious prospect.

I wouldn't be surprized if odd mechanical or trim bits might fit, but I do not think any major body components would. But it too used the BMC "C" series engine along with the Healey so engine and gearboxes might be compatible... but I'd want to look at what was there and see things side-by-side to be sure.

If you need a new chassis there are several suppliers in the UK and USA that make them- Jule is one, in Canada; the UK Healey Centre, Cape International, Denis Welch and AH Spares in the UK. You seem to be in South Africa and I am unaware of any there.

I'd suggest you join a local club and see what they can tell you....

Engine and transmission would be ok, but the head would not be standard Healey. Some rework required there, the cam would probably need altering too. Overdrive switch, speedo and rev counter probably the same, along with any other guages. Window winder possibly the same as a BJ7 / 8, not sure about the back axle.

6/110 uses Borg Warner R11 OD which is much more fiddly to drive as there is no engine braking below 30mph. My Ford has one.

I think the Wolley used the same front suspension as the Healey too.

Andy.

Many thanks to all for the info looks like I salvage what I can and discard the rest. Anybody know of a secondhand chassis?
Andy many thanks for the download

Austin A99 & A110 have many parts that are useable. Engine bottom end parts, the head is totally different, exhaust & inlet valves are smaller in dia. the rocker gear is the same, the gearbox housing is the same on the A99 not sure of the A110, the gears & syncro are different, the diff centre is the same but check the ratio to make sure, housing is wider as with the axles, the door handles, window winders are the same, the window mechanism looks the same but they slightly different, I think the wiper motor housing is the same, but the elect. motor is 2 speed. some of the electricals are the same. the chassis is totaly different, none usable, as with the brakes, a totoly different brand. Do as I did conpare components . Many nuts & bolts are the same. Best of luck Trevor S.
