Wolf Amri's take on pro photography in the "Digital Age"

A good honest appraisal. And why I bailed as digital imaging was becoming ubiquitous:

I don't think I would ever want to be a "professional" photographer, though I would not mind if I could - on some small level - monetize what I love doing, but not to the point of being a "professional." I mainly am into photography just for the fun of it, but would not mind if a were able to sell a few prints, even if only as hobby income to off set my expenses invested in the "hobby". I enjoy shooting and the process of post-processing. It is a constant learning process. The more I learn the more I realize I don't know.

Understandable, especially under current conditions.

I almost hate to say it, but trying to make a "living" as a pro in these times is next-to pulling a rabbit out of a hat if you're not willing to, mmmm...

My comments and opinions on the subject should be better kept to myself. Just glad there are folks like Wolf willing to critically assess how the profession has shifted.
