Wobbly Wheels Revisited

I've finally determined some of the strange handling characteristics that Bugsy has been having lately can likely be traced to worn front wheel bearings. No I haven't even jacked him up but by paying close attention to the way he's been driving I'm almost certain that's the culprit.

Anyone have a quality replacement part # front wheel bearing set other than from the usual sources.

Timkin at your local parts house.

Jack,

Got a Part #?

Parts house sould be able to pull a matching number CR or Timken off the bearing your replacing. Should be stamped on the race edge. Or wait a few minutes here and someone will have it.

I'm sorry I don't have a part number. But as Chris says it's in the Timkin book.

Apparently there are several different bearings which do the job, but here are the part numbers for Timken Tapered bearings that I have gathered from various posts.
Timken 07097/07024 (inner) and 05066/05185 (outer.
I haven't done the job myself but they are supposed to be easy to fit.
Graham.

Thanks folks for the information,
