Wizard Radiators for Healey's

Hi Rick -

I have a Wizard Rad sitting in my garage that I will probably drop in the car next weekend, waiting for a fan from DW to show up. Question for you, what are you running for Coolant? Wizard is specifying waterless coolant which I am not sold on and I read elsewhere that Distilled Water is bad for Aluminum. Thanks for the help.

To support Rick's last comment, Zerex G-05 is the coolant that Mercedes-Benz sells under their own label for cars with aluminum heads. Their Factory Service Manual recommends distilled water (rainwater is also mentioned) to be mixed with G-05. So if you trust their engineers (which I do), Zerex G-05 and distilled water seem like solid selections if you have an aluminum radiator.

I actually installed one of these in my BJ8 when the stock inlet tank started to leak. The only issue I had was the bottom outlet was about twice as long as the stock unit. I had trouble getting it squeezed under the crossmember due to the tight area up there. Once it was in, it worked like a charm. With a stock fan, I was running about 180 degrees in late June/ early July Indianapolis weathe.
