wives forum?

I'm not so sure my wife really wants to know how much I spend. She went with me to pick up the powder coated parts for the frame today. I took a blank check and said that I'd fill it later. She just laughed and said "that's not a good sign".

Well, THAT was a good sign for me!!!!

She's not really a forum type person, but that's now. Maybe later, that could change.

Don't worry Paul while yer out on the links I'm sure someone here can explain it all to her. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif

I'm kind-a on the fence here. All I need is for my wife and Dales Wendy to start comparing notes and all sorts of for sale ads might start popping up in the classifieds or worse yet car crusher junk yard sites might start showing up in my history files. Oh... The horror!

I am amazed how threatened and how vocal some would be in response to this idea considering that all they have to do is not mention that there might be women communicating on the forum.

I agree with David and Kodanja. I like what David said and had in mind getting to know others like them in the hobby.

Shirley and I have been in another hobby for many years that can cost as much or more than this one. There the meetings are attended by husbands and wives as well as a good number of the kids. Some might find it interesting that in that group you do not find wives complaining about the cost. Many of the wives have actually become involved to the point that they do a good amount of purchasing themselves.

My wife is in the dark, and will stay that way.

I'm amazed too. Sharon has knocked 4 minutes off the last oil change. She is getting better and better. It was touch and go there for a while, but the threat of a divorce sent her out to get some new wrenches.

Hey, I for one posted dismay at my wife having a forum here, a comment that was so far out how anyone could not see that it was very much a tongue in cheek comment is amusing. At least in this household, my wife is not interested in my hobby other then seeing me happy (and watching the expenditures).

A forum for wives, husbands, or significant others is fine with me. I just doubt it will go anywhere. After all, there is nothing stopping them now from commenting or otherwise jumping in, perhaps for those interested, sign them up and see how it goes.

I suggest you guys take a Giggalo count before you OK this idea.

I've seen and heard the lust on this forum for some of the other members cars.

Wendy has no huge interest in the actual process
of restoration other than booking cruises for us
(read revenge) when she thinks I have gone overboard
on purchasing repair parts.

My wife is the same as Wendy. I get a lot of "a-huh's and that's nices" and back into the house she goes.

However, she does like the club events with the other wives, but only because it's face to face and they talk about everything BUT these cars.

As far as I'm concerned, she is just fine with me the way that she is!

At our latest car show, last month, the wife never made it to the actual grounds. She and 8 other wives took off the morning of the show and went into Natchez to shop for the day. She showed back up in time to head'em up and move'em out.

Just picture the signature lines, maybe something
like this: Wife of 2wrench
Wife of tomshobby, etc???

Give them their own forum?

Naw, they'd just catch up with our spending all the
more quickly by comparng notes.

All kidding aside, Tom, why don't you have your wife
join as a new member introducing herself and
then she can ask to chat away with whomever she
wishes. Works for me. Sounds cool to hear your wife
is really interested.

Hey There Harry;

I really get a kick out of your avatar: Where did you get that one? /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif

Would you be able to email me an attachment of it? I won`t use it here on this forum but may somehow adapt it to my email address:

Thanx and let me know;
