wives forum?

I brought this subject up on Dale's thread and since there was some interest I am placing it here.

I have noticed that our wives are getting mentioned more and more on this forum and some are getting to know each other. A few evenings ago I was talking with Shirley about this and she said that she would like to get to know some of the other wives too.

Wonder what the rest of you think about this and would a separate forum be the way to do that? Or some other way?

Sounds pretty good but David must never, ever
mention to Wendy even a hint as to how much $$ I've
sunk into this venture. Maybe some of the other wives
would also have cows if they knew how much it costs
to get these old cars up, functional and semi reliable.

Just a thought.

If you do it, I'm not telling my wife. There would be no where to hide. I'ld be dead meat.

You mean I can't tell my wife how much I spend on her TR3A?

I don't even want to know how much I've spent on my 4A project.

ok pix of the wife!!!
she enjoys being in the passenger seat almost as much as I like being behind the wheel!

Great, then after we've both had some time on the Forums we can sit down and talk over our feelings about it.

I believe I have issues with the carburators...

I'd like to get more in touch with the timing...

Thank you for sharing that with me...

I think it would be fun for those that are interested. Shirley enjoys our TR6 as much as I do and almost always are together when our car is on the road.

This is a week after we bought the car in Sept 2005. As much as the car needed work we showed it anyway. After a morning drive.

Well, Horsemits could be a passable wrench but so far she's been less-than participatory here. Not sure just why. She's managed to put up with ME for a good while and can MacGyver about anything from a Riso printing colator to an MGB... she's been inna Shed a few times, met alana and missed meeting Rick (hottvr) and Doug (AngliaGT) due to ~work~ stuff... Still hasn't poked 'er 'ead up much. Dunno quite why. She does know what it costs to make old LBC's go down th' road, so no hiding or dodgin' THAT issue here.

Tom,
I have a terrific recipe for spicy chicken casserole if you'd like a copy?

I've neglected to mention Jaybird, Creatrix, Robyn, Terri... and the kids of Team Sprite, too. Some really talented and gung-ho fem LBC owners and maintainers in the crowd already!

You an' me got no worries, kodanja... it's the REST of these guys wot may have a concern. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif

I'm not so sure my wife really wants to know how much I spend. She went with me to pick up the powder coated parts for the frame today. I took a blank check and said that I'd fill it later. She just laughed and said "that's not a good sign".

Well, THAT was a good sign for me!!!!

She's not really a forum type person, but that's now. Maybe later, that could change.

and 'smits don't do "ironing"... If I don't want three creases in me pants ~I~ have to do it.

My wife is Annie
She understands me more than anyone else in the world and I love her. She has put up with my passion for cars, and even likes our old El Camino (64) better than I do.
Dale, your secret is safe with us!!! What the expenses are to restore cars is a personal thing, not to be talked about, or shared.
If the rest of you have a girl behind you that understands, this takes the place of anything but her, then we will enjoy this hobby for many years.
I feel lucky to have this support, and hope all of you feel the same way.
Tom, thanks for this thread
Dave

Hi "Ladies" and Gents;

Here`s my wifes attitude:

She loves taking a ride: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/driving.gif She loves the way they look: /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/thumbsup.gif Can`t be bothered with a Car Show (Too Boring): /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sleep.gif Won`t wrench anything which is OK by me! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif Overall likes my LBCs:

Then, She says: "Well; You just spent $1500.00 on a set of Chrome wires so, that means I can spend $1500.00 on Country Decor, Right"! "NOT"!!!!!!!!!!!! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/wall.gif

Summary to this story is: If I spend $1.00 on my LBC; It`ll cost me $2.00 to keep my wifes Country decor appetite happy! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/crazyeyes.gif

Regards, Russ /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/banana.gif
