Wishes for Dave Russell

Dave,

You are in our thoughts and prayers. You are a BCF Friend, an Austin Healey friend, and a friend friend. I wish I were closer at times like these.

Dave,
In the short time that I have been visiting this forum, I have always been astonished at the depth of your knowledge and the patient and clear way you share that knowledge with us.
My thoughts are with you.

Dave,
You are in my thoughts now, and especially so when I flip the OD switch, and smile when it works. Thank you so much for your time and willingness to share your knowledge.

Dave: While we have never met you have answered many of my questions and your solution always worked! You obviously are a man of great wisdom and practical skill. Believe me on this one: Attitude and pray will going a long way in treating your condition. You certainly have my very best wishes and sincere prayers.
God Bless

Dave--

So many posts from so many folks speak volumes to the quality person that you are.

I have always been in awe of your encyclopaedic knowledge and your willingness and ability to share it freely and in great detail with never a breath of condescension. When we have spoken or exchanged emails about some problem I was having I have always felt fortunate to have such a wise and generous friend.

Thanks, Dave, for being Dave.

Dave, you are the epitome of what Basil had in mind for a member of this forum to be. That has been expressed many times over in the above posts. Thanks for everything you have contributed.
You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dave - I am crushed to hear that you are sick. I hope you get better. I have learned so much from your posts here and on the Healey List. You are a great guy. My thoughts are with you and your family.

Dave:

I hope you and your family will find peace and comfort as you battle your melanoma. Thanks for all you've done for me and hundreds of others you've helped through this forum -- and your magazine column too.

We stand with you as family. The true relationship may be different but the thoughts, concerns and hope that we have for you at this time are the same.

Dave,

I cannot thank you enough for all of the assistance you provided to me during my restoration of the "Bloody Beast." Yes, there were the postings on the Forum, but there were countless off-list email exchanges in which you offered guidance and direction to a learning "hobbyist." I never felt like the beginner I was because you always made me feel so comfortable. The truth is, I never would have obtained the final result I did with my BT7 were it not for your help.

But, now cars don't seem so important. All of my hope, my prayers, and my very best thoughts are with you as you take on a very tough disease. Best wishes to you, good friend.

Dave,

I don't know where to start. I think I've read almost every post that you've written over the years, learning about issues that I will never come across (nor hope to), and more importantly, how to patiently deal with them. Like a good teacher, you not only deliver the subject matter, but do so in a way that made it so easy to comprehend. Trust me, for my brain to understand it, that's saying a lot. :jester:

I hope that your physicians understand your situation better than you understand LBC's. I don't know if that's possible, but I pray that it is. I pray for the upmost in comfort for you and your family during this difficult time. If anyone deserves it, you do.

Take care...

Dave
I recently sent you a PM inquiring about your absence from the forum and to share an idea I had about compiling your words of Healey wisdom into a volume. When I sent the PM I was totally unaware of your situation. Please forgive my insensitivity and lack of awareness. Thank you for all your thoughtful advice. Your knowledge about this world of ours is vast, your generosity even greater.
Warm regards,
Steven

Dave and the Russell family,
My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Dave,
You have always been very kind and extremely helpful and friendly with the many questions I seem to always have regarding LBC's. Your kind words and informative posts have always been greatly appreciated. I will be thinking of you daily and am hoping you may return soon.

I don't post often, but I have sent several private messages to Dave.He helped me in so many ways with my BJ7 when I felt lost.I am very saddened to hear about the health issues.Dave, I will include you in my prayers
often.Don't ever give up.Your friend and admirer,Ben.

Dear Dave,

You are without a doubt one of the most patient and soft spoken men I have had the pleasure to meet. Your answers about Healeys have been infallible and totally relied upon by me, you have saved me countless hours of sorting out and frustration and I am truly grateful.

When you acted as host to me and two of my kids, we hade a very enjoyable afternoon together and I deeply appreciate your hospitality. The highlight of my trip to Idaho (and you know the significance of picking up my son there) was driving your perfect 100! (My cheeks still get red when I remember grinding your first gear, but you were un-phased, I appreciated it at the time and have come to think of that reaction as typifying your life.)

I know where you have put your trust in life and I am confident you will not be disappointed. God bless you and Godspeed, my friend.

Just saw this. (Normally never look at stickies.)

Don't post much here (Not technically competent enough) but Dave, I don't personally know you, but I have the utmost respect for you.

I'm mentally willing you that you have the power to pull through this latest crisis. I really hope you do.

Kevin.

Dave, you responded to my first post and I sent you a special thanks for your knowledge and willingness to share. You really exemplify the Biblical injunction to do unto others what you would have them do to you. You have spent innumerable hours trying answer those of us in the Healey community who know less than you do. I will pray for you and ask God to bless you in this time and be with your family as they go through these trials with you.
