My wife and I have done TSD rallies. We agree before we start that we ould rather be married at the end of the rally than win any prize. We have asome friend that are fierce rallyists, but we prefer to stay on course and enjoy the ride. They are fun and meeting other drivers and seeing the cars is way cool. T.T.

See, *that* looks like fun at a reasonable cost.
We do have some vintage rallys here in the east, but they are multiple days and very high end with deluxe accomodations (and ~$3000 to $5000 entry fees).
Maybe I should start an NJ-TT :laugh:

In 22 years I have done 10 3-day rallies in Ireland (each with a day's driving to and from the event), a week's rally around Scotland and about 10 single day rallies. These all include driving tests, hill climbs and tough navigation against the clock using my TR3 or previous TR4A. I have also navigated in a similar number of events in a TR2 and Talbot Alpine. In all that time all that I have needed has been one spark plug!

Well - we made it! 600+ <span style="font-weight: bold">fast</span> miles without any problems. The rebuilt heads on the TR8 really woke the car up - the extra power was very useful when we were pressing on. I had to watch to not break the tires loose on the hairpin, only time I had to really flog her was when the Maserati Bora started to pull away - but I caught her!
Here is one of my buddy Rene in his well dialed-in MGB.
We gained and lost at least 20,000 feet over the weekend, probably more. The roads out near Big Bear and Palm Springs are just amazing.
