The turn signal and parking lights are not working on the passenger side of the Healey. Any suggestions as to where I should start looking for the problem? Where are the grounding points for the wiring loom?

Also check the relay box on the left side wheel well. My front right turn signal was not owkring. Traced it down to the relay box. Adjusted it a little and it worked again. Check the shop manual if you have one. I coudln't live without one.
 
I thought that the relay box was a sealed unit. What do you mean by "adjusted it a little and it worked again". How do you adjust this unit?

Because the parking lights on that side are also not working, I tend to think that it may be a bigger problem than the turn signals alone.

Looking for suggestions.

Ray, the cover on the relay box is removable.In most cases the contacts inside the unit have become contaminated and only require a good cleaning up to get it back into 0peration.-Keoke
 
Ray, you may need to remove the fresh air duct to get at the relay properly, the cover just prizes off, but you could try for a quick fix first, I found the the forked connections needed to be cleaned up and these are on the outside and mostly accessible without removing the duct, it is a swine to get back on, the duct that is.

Just discovered that the problem with the turn signal/parking lights was a corroded light socket. Anyone have a good idea as how to clean the socket?

Hi Ray,a litttle fine sand paper or a small brass detail brush should let you clean the bulb base and socket ok.---Keoke
 
Isn't there some stuff you can coat the parts with to prevent it from happening again? I've forgotten what it is. I have a tube of the stuff somewhere in the garage.

The stuff is called bulb grease. Should be able to get it at any hardware store. - Greg
 
Ray, recently I wrote an article about the brake switch relay adjustment. Not too difficult, might be worth while to go ahead and remove it and adjust. It'll make the turnsignals work faster/better and maybe even brighter. Click above for the article.

I was searching the forum looking for information and came across your article about adjusting the stop light relay. With your permission, can we put this in the TECH TIPs section of this forum ?
 
I use a product called "corrode cure" think its a battery post type grease on my beach buggy wiring terminals, has worked well.

Might be a good idea to remove the relay box and clean/adjust it anyway. It's not really that hard to do and makes the turnsignal lights/brake lights work faster and possibly even a little brighter. I wrote an article for Healey Marque awhile back about doing just that. It only took about 2 hours to do. Don't forget to write down where the wires go. If you like I can send you a .pdf file showing you how to do it.
