Wiring question

Before the heat drove me out of the garage I ran into 3 wires that had been clipped in the right battery tray. one Green with red tracer, Green with white tracer and red and white. I'm pretty sure the red and white is ignition related but the other 2 I'm not sure of.

I want to believe that they go to the inhibitor switch but the wiring diagram doesn't show that color code however the color picture in the book does.

This is in the 73 which I am now considering getting a vanity plate IH8DPOS for.

According to the wiring diagrams, green with red tracer goes to the left side indicator lamps.

Green with white tracer goes to the right side indicator lamps.

White wire would go to the fuel pump.

Red wires would go to the tail and marker lights.

Color wiring diagrams are available at https://www.advanceautowire.com click "stock schematics"
There are a couple of diagrams for '73. You will have to match the features of your car to the appropriate diagram.

Have you tested these wires for power? Have you made a list of what doesn't work?

I need an inhibitor wire for me in the BE. Maybe it could keep the grin off my face when driving, also cut the brewski usage down a bit.

Ha, inhibitor wire indeed. I need a paper bag over my head.

Replaced the rear harness fun fun fun but now the rear harness isn't all hacked up. Ran into the same wires spliting off the harness Green with red tracer, Green with white tracer and Red with white tracer. Lenth of the wires runs to the back of the transmission but I have yet to see a switch. Any idea on where to look for the inhibitor switch?

It's the switch the one the keeps OD disabled when not in 3rd or 4th and it's located where you will have heck of time reaching it!It's above and slightly behind the back-up light switch, on the shifter tube, over the OD unit. Good luck!
