Can anyone tell me if the power "TO" the wiper system goes to the motor first or to the switch first? Can someone post a wiper diagram?

The wiper motor is ground switched I believe. There is a wire that is hot whenever the key is on, and the switch actually gives the motor a ground so that it operates.

But wait for a wiring diagram to be sure.

I have an old TR3 manual I'll dig through that also. Maybe their the same.

Edit: I checked my TR3 manual. It showed the switch as hot then to the motor and the motor grounded. I think the Triumph and the Healey used the same motors didn't they?
 
The wiper switch (45) is located between the wiper motor(46) and positive earth.
 
OK, another question. That diagram shows the horns working via a relay. When I disassembled my sprite I do not remember seeing one. Do they all have them? I'm asking out of curiosity since I'm making a custom harness.
 
No relay on the horns the way it came from the factory. Just that contact closure on the horn switch,
 
The possible weak spot is where the ground has to go through the steering column. I'm going to use a relay for my horn.
 
Very cool! Thanks for the link! Sorry, it's a 1959 but not stock. I will run it negative earth and 12 volt. BTW: I purchased one of the after market wiring kits because first my wiring was junk and second because the car has a Suzuki engine in it and I wanted modern wiring.

The instructions that came with the harness are less than helpful. They are some kind of direction sheet, not a diagram. WT#!
 
OK, but it appears that the park mechanism needs to have a hot (ign switched) circuit, and the wiper switch controls the ground to activate the wipers. I'm not sure how that fits into your aftermarket harness.

I thought about using a generic aftermarket harness, but after looking at all the alterations required I opted to "roll my own".

Ya, your right about the power lead running to the wiper motor. I can easily run it that way.

The harness is very generic. I think that's why their instructions are so vague. I've spend a couple hours sorting through this thing.

I'm mapping all the circuits and making diagrams. I've added wiring for things like power to a remote stereo that will be hidden in the trunk and a high pressure electric fuel pump that will be mounted inside the tank for the fuel injection. Also an electric fan for cooling, and a tach signal wire for my stock looking converted electronic tach.
