Wiring Query

Hi guys

I have come to the collective ensemble with a small electrical problem and I am sure some one can point me in the right direction.

I have a BJ7 with a Positive earth ( ground ) and it does not have a cut out switch in the boot ( trunk). ( Note to self - must buy one. ) On the wiring diagram there is a white with black wire linked from the switch to the CB terminal of the coil. I am rewiring the car and the existing white with black wire was lurking loose in the trunk and was chopped off in the engine bay just short of the coil. The CB terminal was connected to the dizzy as per the diagram. What is the purpose of this wire, does it act as an electrical short when the cut out switch is activated?, that is the only solution that I can come up with as the car was fine as it was.

Bob

Hi Bob,
Yes, the black/white deactivates the ignition when the cut-off switch is in the off position, and sometimes when it is on too. If you are going to get the switch for the trunk, tape the blk/wht wire off on both ends till you can hook it up proper like.
