So yeah, no power to the headlight wires out in the nose and, no power to the dimmer switch down in the footwell.

Anyone have any ideas where to start this journey.

And, car is a GAN1 Midget, 61 or 62

Thanks guys

Jay

Yep, at the switch on the dash.

Check for power at the switch (brown is always hot, blue goes to the headlamps) If you connect the brn to blue the lights should work. If not, suspect the dip switch, it has 3 wires, blue is hot going in (center terminal) connect the blue to either other wire, low or highs should come on. If not, check the dip harness where it meets the headlight harness sort of near the coil, look for 3 wires blue, blu/red, blu/white.
Clean those connections and make sure the ground is clean and connected at the inner right fender sort of behind the heater hose clamp, that is the headlamp ground.

Ah Hah!

Problem was the dimmer switch on the floor... power going in and nothing coming out. I replaced it with a known good one I got from Sports car Craftsman here in Denver and replaced both headlight pigtails and wa-la,, I have headlights.

And since I was on a roll i replaced the flasher unit and hooke up the new turnsignal switch,,, ta-da, I now have turn signals too.

I know it sounds like I am way too excited about this but my only electrical problem left is the brake lights and then they are all fixed!

And that is prob grounds or the switch its self.
