Wiring harness supplier?

I'm considering replacing the wiring harness for my Sprite. I just called British Wiring and found that they want just about $100 more than Moss. Is there a difference in quality or does Moss just have a better price for the same item? My old wires seem OK but my concern is with oxidation of the old connectors.

Ask Tony Barnhill.

and he will assure you they are all exactly the same - to the point of having duplicate (or competitors) tags in the bags he has ordered

My new harness is unraveling on me in two different places, ugh.

Right...I used to use British Wiring before it was sold....since have gone with Moss...when I was getting a new harnes for my 1963 Midget, I ordered the Moss harness....it had an extra white wire behind the dash & the Moss tech was researching why...in the interim, I called British Wiring & had him pll one off the shelf in case I needed to get one quick.....it had the same white wire & the number on the bagwas the factory parts number - the same factory parts number that was on the "bag inside a bag" when I got my Moss catalog.

Since I'd had the factory in the UN build me a custom harness for one of my cars, I had their phone number....I called them and the parts number for their harness (that they made) was the same as the parts number on my harness & on British Wiring's harness.....the factory guy told me what the extra wire was for.

Best bet is to find a price you're happy with and a vendor with whome you're comfortable.

So in the case of ahspares..does anyone know if this is only the 'main' harness (dash and engine bay) or does it include the rear harness as well?
Just curious if anyone had already asked..

Thanks

Can't say for sure but a friend just bought a BE harness from them. That harness was complete except for the dip switch pigtail which was a separate item.

John Lee could answer your question with certainty.

Moss' 355-015 is a front-to-rear wiring harness for your car that replaces everything except the harness to the floor mounted headlight dimmer and, I believe, one other small wiring connection but I can't remember which it is....the catalog states that the harnesses use new style lights & givea a parts number so you can order them.

That Moss harness looks like the way I'll go. With the discounts it will be a good deal. Thanks.

Thanks Ray - I sent them an e-mail via their web page..and got a reply from John already!
For everyone's reference, ahspares does include the rear harness.
Shipping to me in Texas was quoted at 28 GBP..or around $46USD..
AH spares (using the USD version conversion) is $210.60 for my MKII harness + 46 shipping = $257..
I just checked the competition..about $100 more shipped.

Just FYI>..

You may want to consider getting it (the Moss harness) through Tony (or at least check his price). :yesnod:
