Wiring goof. Need help!!!

I need help, Please! I foolishly removed the wires from my 78 B ignition relay and did not record were they went. Well, of course, I hooked them up wrong and let the smoke out the ground (black) wire. It is a Lucas relay with the following numbers on top: 87, 86, 85, 30/51. The wires are: Brown, Black, White & White w/brown tracer. Can anyone tell me which wires go which terminal?? Thanks!

Hi Tom, let's try and sort this out. I am looking at a relay right now. The brown wire goes on the terminal closest to the inner fender. Move anti-clockwise now, and the black goes on the terminal nearest the coolant overflow bottle, or the front of the car. Anti-clockwise again, and the white with brown tracer goes on the terminal closest to the engine. The white now goes on the last terminal, closest to the fuse box. Good luck, hope this helps.

Good one Geo and if you don't understand that, then best to leave the wiring to someone else. Wayne

Thanks all for the help! I have not yet got it started again as I pulled the radiator and am having a new core put in it. I did however have great success installing my new top. I was not going to try it until I read several posts here that said it was easy. I am glad I saved the money and installed myself! Thanks Again!
