I lost all my turn signals yesterday- front and back.

Hazzards work just fine.
Switched out blinker cans- still no turns.

Turn signal blinker can "blinks" but no turn rights
front or rear.

No burned out fuses.

I get no current in any of the four turn signal wires.
No current appears to be coming out of the hazzard switch
spades into the two turn signal wires.

Blinker can blinks but no current to the wires.

Any ideas? I'm off to Dr Payne for some enamel excavations.

Hi Dale,

How is your hazard switch wired? On early TR6's the turn signal wires would be routed from the turn signal switch, through the hazard switch, then on down the line to the 'blinker' unit and lights. If it is the same or similar with the Dan Masters wiring harness you might have to still look at the hazard switch, or at least check all the wires running in and out of it. Could be the turn signal switch itself too. You can take those apart to clean and check the contact areas as well. Or drop big bucks for a new switch. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif
 
Could be corrosion to the flasher switch contacts.
You disassemble the switch very carefully as the plastic may be brittle with age. Do it in an area where flying parts won't be easily lost(there is a spring in there). Take note how it is assembled. There aren't very many parts.
Clean copper contacts inside the switch with a pencil eraser.
While out, carefully clean the spade connectors on the back of the switch with a light emery cloth. These can break very easily.
 
Dale, have you checked the connections at the turn signal flasher unit? I had this problem earlier this summer. Turns out my daughter had knocked it with her feet (located on right bulkhead, in passenger footwell). Plugged it in and 'good to go'.

Turn signal switch and wiring harness brand new.

I'll pull Dan Master's hazzard switch and make sure
nothing fell off when I hit some potholes. I'll clean the
turn signal switch contacts as well. Salt air makes rust
very quickly here. Rusted contacts did not occur to me
since the unit is new.

3 1/2 hours with Dr. Payne digging for gold. Pain killer
is just kicking in, so I'll deal with the turn signal issue manana. I think it's deep snooze time.

Dale- Invest in some di- electric (??) grease. In that salt air it must be a hassle keeping up with the corrosion. Or ,powder coat all the little tab connections.
Just kidding.
Check the relay that runs the signals at the block.
Just talked to Dan today on my wiring.
