wiring confusion,...help

Okay, so I bought a new dash harness for my 76 midget. I'm plugging everything in or at least trying to figure out what goes where and I have some things left over.

Where the two main plugs/clips go together I've got what I think is a ground connection in the dash harness but nothing to plug it into on my main harness.

And on the middle of the dash harness I have two wires not going to anything (purple and black/white)

any thoughts or suggestions???

I think those go up to the brake pressure test light.

Red light/button directly above the steering wheel.

The following comments are made with regard to "general" Lucas color codes and may not apply to your specific Midget. Black/white is a brake warning light wire. If the Midgets ever use a PDWA, the black/white wire usually goes from the warning lamp to that switch (at least on other cars). The purple wire is typically used for the horn circuit and it's always "hot". On later cars it was also used for interior courtesy lights when fitted.

The black wire should indeed be a ground. I can't tell from your picture where the other end of the wire is going. Try and figure that out. If it looks like it's needs a ground connection (for lamps or something) make an extension to the wire and hook it to the chassis somewhere.
