Hey everyone -
So I finally wrapped up my floor prep and got the Miata seats installed. I'm really thrilled with them...much better than the stock ones
Anyway, I decided to get moving with the stereo installation in order to take advantage of the speakers in the seats. Upon pulling everything in the center console out and going over it, I discovered that the power wire connected to the old head unit was dead, and also wasn't on my wiring diagram. I was able to trace it back, and it looks like it goes to an accessory port on the ignition. I did a quick test to determine if the wire is good (it is), however I can't check where it's attached to the ignition to see if it's properly connected.
So with that in mind:
- Is my hunch about the acc port on the ignition switch correct? Does such a thing exist?
- If so, is there any easy way to get the shroud on the steering column off so I can see what's going on? I have a feeling it's not going to be as simple as loosening the screws on the shroud...
Thanks!
