Wireless Microphone question

OK techies, was at church today, and our pastor has recently inherited a shure wireless microphone system. It has the dumbest mike I have ever seen - imagine the monster in alien coming out of her. Got me wondering whether a lightweight over the ear mike is as simple as unplugging the old and inserting the new? It says Shure PGX1 on the remote box. Any ideas?

thanks all

Usually you have to match the head to the transmitter. Impedance, type, and plug. IF you can find an over-the-ear wand that plugs into the TX, rent it for a weekend and try it. I did that for 30+ years.
