General Tech Wire wheel sealing bands?

It's a bit difficult to locate the original rubber sealing bands that went around the rims under the inner tubes to protect them from damage. I seem to remember seeing some other solutions to this. What did you use?

As an alternative, PVC pipe wrap tape works fine; available in different widths. But don't use duct tape or electrical tape.

I believe Hendrix Wire Wheel will also sell you rim/band tape.

When Hendrix put new tires and tubes on the 72 B they put a tape type material on the center covering the spoke ends, never had a problem. PJ
