wiper set up help needed

Hi

I’m after a bit of information, regarding what classic cars use the same windscreen wheel boxes and cable that a mini does. The cable pulls and pushes to operate the wipers.

I’m actually trying to find out if any other cars use a longer length of the spiral cable, as I have built a custom car, and the wipers go in and out, opposes to side to side, and I could really do with a longer length. The Mini length works, but it really would be better if it was about 6 inches longer.

So if any one knows any other car that uses this type of wiper set up, I would be really grateful if you could let me know, so I can find out what lengh they use.

Thanks

Don

Hello Don,
Sorry I can't give a specific reply, but that set up is common to most BL cars. I would suggest looking in a scrap yard with a tape measure. I would think that something like my Triumph 2000 would have a longer rack cable than the mini and should do the trick.
Alternatively try Europa Spares who sell (amongst many other things) windscreen wiper kits.
