TR2/3/3A Wiper motor wiring

I'm rebuilding the wiper motor on my TR3A. I need to replace the red wire from the motor to the control. Anybody know what gauge wire it should be?

Its not critical at all, that wire only carries current right after you turn off the dash switch. So just pick whatever fits reasonably snugly in the hole.

ISTR I used 14Awg.

Depending on how particular you are -- I think it is more of a brick red than a bright red.

You don't think it was originally a brighter shade, and has aged to that color? To me, it looks a lot like the red meter lead for an old Simpson multimeter, with rubber rather than vinyl insulation. They also turn dark with age, although the process is accelerated in places where they've been touched.

Probably because that is exactly what it is. Yes, perhaps I was just matching patina with that choice.

By the way - if the insulation breaks where that wires goes through the motor end plate and shorts - the motor runs all the time (it is providing an interruptible ground for the park function continuation).
