Hello
I've finally got around to rebuilding my TR4 wiper motor. It works fine, but after 25 years sitting in someone's garage it could do with a makeover. I have a couple of questions
1. You can't dismantle the unit without removing the wire that runs from the motor to the top of the gearbox. So I fired up my soldering iron however it doesn't even make a dent on the solder in the box. The soldering iron is 25W and >20 years old. So, do I need a new soldering iron or did lucas use something special for these connections in their infinite wisdom?
2. The workshop manual says to fill the gearbox with Ragosine Listate grease. What is the modern equivalent of this stuff?
3. What color were these painted originally (late CT) and what's the modern equivalent?
Thanks for your help.
