Wiper Motor Problem Not Working

All:

I’ve had an ongoing problem with getting the wiper motor on my 59 BE. I’ve had issues where the motor ran briefly, smoked, and stood working. I replaced the motor (same issue). We bench tested the motor (it worked). I replaced the wiper motor switch. Today we hooked up everything and the fuse fuse immediately blew.

Thoughts?

I would look for a bind or friction in the cable, tube and wheel boxes. Maybe just dried grease.

I will bet that the wire connections are incorrect. Verify them

Bill wins the prize: We re-tested the motor (working) and the tension on the cable moving the wipers (free movement). There were two loose black wires under the dash. I swapped one of those into wiper switch (removing the other) and everything turned on and operated fine. Everything.

I can't explain those other two black wire (to where they should go). I taped them up and secured away. There is also a white wire (with a bullet connector at its end) that I can't account for either.

Otherwise, it's working as designed.
