Wiper Motor Color Spec

I just picked up a used wiper motor for my TR4-A. I plan to paint the motor and want to keep the car as close to factory specs as possible. Could someone tell me the factory appearance specs for the motor, or even better point me to a picture of an original setup. I have the Original TR book on order, but haven't received it yet.

My TR4 (not 4A) is a black body, not exactly krinkle black but not exactly smooth either. OTOH, I have seen some in a sort of Hammerite Gray(?) that were beleved to be originals.
 
I think that the Hammerite gray (lighter of the two shades offered) is correct. Available in rattle can from most stores that sell spray paints.
 
I think Hammerite was used on the TR4, the TR4A switched to black wrinkle. My 4A came with black wrinkle and that's how I refinished it. Original TR doesn't say except that the TR4A 2-speed motor continued through the TR5.
 
Can we expand this question to what color is appropriate for a '71 TR6?
 
Pretty sure it is the light gray Hammerite, which gives a hammered effect on the paint when sprayed.
 
Man, there are lots of different opinions on this. It seems like the camp is equally divided between wrinkle black and Hammerite light gray.

According to the pics at Mr. Rhoades site, it appears the one speed motors are gray and the 2 speed motors black.

But the discussion on the link that PeterK provided adds a lot of controversy (good reading on the subject https://www.team.net/mharc/archives/cgi-b...rmal&sort=score)

Leads one to almost believe that Lucas painted the motors with whatever color they had available at paint time.....
