Wiper arms

For a project I'm building I need a couple wiper arms. They need to be about 8 1/2 to 9" long from the center of the wheel box mount to the center of the blade attachment. I think MGB's will work but my Mg is already in winter storage (40 miles away). Can anyone confirm the size? I'm using Mini wheel boxes, which I think are the same size as the B's, with the blade mounting knurl about 1/2 inch dia. Thanks, Bob

I checked my '72 with the blade off and the arm from the center of the mounting stud to the end is 10 1/4"

Thanks, MrB. If yours is a roadster it sure looks like it would be too long. I did notice in the Mini-Mania cat that they have adjustable ones and that may be the route to take. Actually, first, I'll post this on the Mini site and see if theirs fixed length ones are any shorter. Bob

IIRC, Midget wiper arms are shorter than B roadsters, but I've not got one handy to measure.

Yes, its a roadster. You might be able to cut them off a little. It is just a flat bar but it IS bent slightly at the end so the blade will lay down a little flater when the blade comes down to the bottom of the windshield. That bend is 8 1/2" from the center of the mounting.

It would be easy to cut and rebend!! I had to bend mine to get them to park properly!! It may be easiest just to cut it and shorten it and re-weld it, because they are stainless!! With a good weld, it would clean up fine!!!
