Winter Ride

It was almost 60 degrees here in the east today so I left the office early, came home and took the cover off the 60 BT7. After a few shots of starter fluid in the carbs, it came to life with the fimiliar throaty sound of the stainless steel exhausts. In a momment I was transported to Healey Heaven. Two hours later I pulled into the garage having shed at least 5 years off my weary winter bones. This is the best winter tonic you could possibly ask for. Please drive your Healey whenever you can. Both of you will be the better for it.

I've had my Healey out every weekend that it hasn't been raining or snowing. For some reason I just love driving it with the top up and the heater on. Anybody else share this feeling? Don't get me wrong - there's nothing like roaring down a country road in summer with the wind in your face, but being snug and warm with the top up also has its joys.

wana,i know what you mean!yesterday thur.1/12/06 it was 52-54 deg.here in stamford ct,thought id take the beast out to "decarbonize the engine" and "charge the batt."started off with top up and heat on,but desided to drop top after an hour of driving around stamford and pound ridge n.y.,once i did that i began to notice triumps, jags, bmws, porches, all over the roads, all tops down! all waving at each other, and blasting horns as we past or came along side one another,i hadnt see this happen all summer!needless to say i didnt get any work done and im sure none of the other folks did either. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/yesnod.gif

Took a nice dry/ice free drive tuesday (top up) 28 degrees out. No major Healey projects this winter. Got lots of smiles inside the car and out.I think that will be the last for this season as a few storms are comming (Finally!) We have 14 ski areas here and it drives the economy.

Started the year right, Took my BN4 out on 1/1/06 for 1 hour
drive, 50 Degrees. On 1/7/06 when to monthly LBC breakfast, 30 degrees. It was so nice,I took a 11/2 hour drive after. I do not have a heater or top.
We had 2MGA's and 7 Healeys at LBC breakfast.

Here in Seattle, we are having our 28th straight day of RAIN, although the temp has been warm for this time of year, in the 50's. Needless to say my BJ8 remains dry in the garage. Not only can't I drive it or at least choose not to, I can't play golf either. Bummed out in Seattle.
