Winter project

This last winter the bugeye started as a pretty big project. A new motor and exterior paint job led to a brake upgrade that led to painting the engine comp. That led to a new wiring harness and utimately redoing the interior of the bonnet. On my car it had been undercoated by the previos owner, I'd had the car for about 25 yrs and now it just wasn't nice enough. My friend, who has a bodyshop had swapped out labor for all this bodywork, but he had put off the bonnet until last week. I drove over to Lawrence(50 miles) and we put it on yesterday. It is beautiful (absolutely incredably awsomeally really nice). Did I say that I was happy with it? Although Mike sometimes is a frustrating person, he does great work. And I do feel like I'm on the owing side of this relationship again, and he does have a project I am going to be involved in. I have driven the car without the bonnet about 1150 miles. With the bonnet on it you have to listen for the whine of the SC. I do think I'll miss that. So anyway, now I need to install things and ofically end my winter project. Pictures will follow, my college age son is again putting his feet under the table this summer, and so I have some comp. savy in the house.

Congrats on all the hard work. You give me hope that I may get to drive my Bugeye again some day! Can't wait for the pictures.

Once you start fiddling it's lethal... my resto started when I decided to put a new rocker cover gasket on. Before I knew it, the engine and transmission were out, the interior stripped, and the body was being sanded for painting... and she's still not done!!
Congrats on getting another one back on the road!
