winter ambition

I am starting my winter project this week-end. I hope to strip the car down and paint it '91 Jaguar British racing green and replace the interior. And have it running again in March.

I am confused about interiors. I have looked at TRF, VB, and Moss. All of the interiors look to be good quality. Does anyone have any suggestions or preferances as to which is best?

Are the wool carpets really worth the extra money for a daily driver?

I am not looking for a Concours restoration. The car will be a daily driver and parkway cruiser. I want it nice but also have a budget.

Thanks, Pete

Hi Pete - there have been several discussions about this over the last 6 months. I can't give you an answer based on person experience, but you might try doing an advanced search with terms "Prestige, carpet, best" or similar to pull up some of the collective wisdom.

I'm sure others will jump in here with coaching, but if you want the info ASAP a search might get you started.

tdskip, thanks for the help. I started removing fenders, hood, &1 door today. I guess I am commited. (or should be)

I appreciate the help on the carpet. I had thought about the complete interior set from VB. The wool will probably be better in the long run.

thanks again

Good Luck Pete,

If it's any help to you, three weeks ago
I ripped out that plastic POS carpet the
previous owner 1/2a$$ed installed in the
Crypt Car.

I mean it was garbage. I could tear it apart
with my bare hands after only three years use.
No, it was NOT TRF plastic carpet. Another vendor.

So I ordered the TRF wool interior set and it
arrived this past Friday. It is truly beautiful!!
The deepest black of blacks, thick and simply
feels sexy.

Spend the extra few pesos and buy quality.

Maybe the Crypt Car will return once word hits
the street there's Wilton wool waiting in the Crypt.

best regards,

Tinster in PR
