Does any body have any info on these wing mirrors? They are TEX VIEWMASTER from England and were on my first TR3. I found these in with some other parts and was wondering if any body has any info?

Were these mirrors a option or were theses added by the PO?
Thank you for the link TR6 Bill,

All wing mirrors for sidescreen TRs were an added option. When I bought my 1958 TR3A, I wanted to keep the price as low as I could ($2616.00) therefore I told the S-T dealer no white-walls, no wires, no wing mirrors. But that total included the tax and the DMV fee for the plate, windscreen washers ($15.00), overdrive ($150.00) and undercoating ($35.00) regretfully.

Most TR wing mirrors have a nice curve to the stem, but the style you show were (and still are) available.

Many mirrors were available and added (by dealers or owners). The quintessential mirror has to be the Lucas wing mounted mirror. These haven't been produced for over 20 years although there are reproductions available.

Here are a few other options.

My car also had the Tex mirrors. I just received a brand new set off ebay for less than what the Tex factory quoted me for a set with shipping. The cost of the mirrors was a bit less but they wanted 5lbs more to ship. They are out of the UK. Item #390028303821 Nigel is his name and he will get back to you with any questions. These did have the curved stem though as did the originals on my car. Another reason to get the Tex mirrors is the the wings (fenders) you have will have a much larger hole in them for mounting 5/8". The Lucas use a much smaller hole. And the mirrors are very high quality. You can also get them with flat or convex mirror. I got one of each.

I have Tex springbacks on the 3A. It's nice not to have to reset them when you knock into them.

Peter I also have the Tex springback mirrors, they were on my first TR3 in the early 70's!

Not to hijack this (much)
Does anyone have offical mirror configurations for a late model 4A IRS ?
Every car I see has differing mirror layouts
Mine has a wing mirror on drivers left 3/4 of the way towards the front. A Cabin / windshield mirror but no passenger (right) mirror

they where probably dealer items, so there probably is NO official deal.

could be wrong

:iagree:
At least for cars delivered to North America, mirrors were a dealer item. They put on what they liked, where they liked.
