windwing mounting?

Picked up a pair of originals windwings off a '59 TR this past weekend, but just can't figure out how to mount them. I assume the screws are used to tension the thin part against the window frame and the stanchion somehow.

But in trying it on my TR2, it doesn't seem to fit. On my window frame, the parts that would naturally contact the little notches on the clamps are just too rounded to permit the clamps to get a bite.

What am I doing wrong? Is the TR2 frame and/or stanchion shaped differently than on a TR3a?

Or was I misled and these are not really for a TR? ........HELP!

John,

I have a set of wings for my 3A and they don't look like what you have....My mounts are on the edge of the piece and clamps to the windscreen surround...

I am no expert though, so wait for some more responses.

Cheers,

Here's a picture of what should be an original set on my TR3A which was last driven in 1975.
