So I take my father out for a short run yesterday pull out on to the the highway and up flies a rock from a passing car. Dead smack into the center of the windshield it lands and creates a nice crack. O well better then a painted surface.

Just how hard is it change out a windshield on a 1961 Austin Healey?

Cheers
Mark

British cars/links; what would you expect?!

It's weird though, because on my computer your link takes me to the second page of the thread, not the first? Something must be wrong with my puter!

You guys better quit trying to summon " Lucas, prince of darkness " by talking about this or he may show up and make Basil's new server start working like the lights used to work on our cars !

Mark...easy to get em out...a job to get the new one back in...I would recommend you buy the glass and take it to a reputable auto glass installer...not worth the risk and could end up costing a lot more as a DIY!!! an opinion from first hand experience...I'll save you the gory details.

I second Bibber's advice. I struggled for several hours with no progress. Finally took it to a local auto glass installer and $80 later, it was done. I'd never try it again myself.

/bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/iagree.gif with you Bibber. I would talk to the business first to see if they'll accept your newly purchased windshield. Some prefer their own supplier and won't guarantee their work.
