My '78 Midget has resently developed a somewhat embarrassing condition. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/blush.gif
The poor dear piddles on her windshield from time to time.
The problem lies in the right stalk where you push it to activate the washer, it has a slight rattle and activates the washer for brief periods of time at any time, come rain, come shine.
Does the end of the stalk come off/apart?
Doesn't seem like it to me but maybe there's a trick to taking it apart...advice appreciated. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Is that the type that has the little plastic dome on the end that unscrews?

Did you get it apart?

As a matter of fact, I did, just five minutes ago.
Thanks Trevor for pointing out that it has an end-piece that screws out. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif
Uncrewed the end-piece, found three pieces loose in the cavity; a spring, a short plastic pipe with a thicker tip and a metal (brass?)conical piece.
Looked at this selection for a minute and decided that the metal piece must slide onto the plastic pipe begind the thicker tip, the plastic pipe pushes into the end-piece that screws off and the spring needs to be stretched a bit.
After putting things back, my Midget now has a confident spring in her step with no more embarrassing 'issues'. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

LOL

Carl:
Depends!!!
My little plastic dome kept magically appearing on the floor. I finally put a couple of wraps of teflon tape on the threads to keep it from falling out.
Jeff

This plastic dome was more stuck than loose, that's why I didn't realize that it was meant to come off.
Depends!?
No Jeff, she's a lady and whatever darker, less liquid substance she still leaves on the floor from time to time ...
well, we choose not to talk about it.
