Wedge windshield trim

The top of the windshield is leaking so a couple of months ago I had two windshields replaced in my drive way and told the guy he could have the job if he would pop off the trim on the TR7. My plan was to use a high adhesive urethane and force it between the windshield and frame. However he could not figure out how to get it off and that's my question.

The trim is bonded when the windscreen is installed. I've heard that you can very carefully cut between it and the windscreen. But I've not done it myself (yet).

The trim is a pain to remove, it's set right into the window seal and you have to pry it out, if you take the trim off you usually have to replace the whole windshield seal because you end up ripping half of it out with the trim. There's a ridge in the middle of the trim that pushes between the windshield and the window frame into the butyl seal thing. I ended up bending my trim when I had to replace my windscreen =(
