TR5/TR250 Windshield Trim Piece (Shrinkage Thread)

I have had a TR4A and now a TR250 where the windshield trim has shrunk to the point where you can't keep the retaining clip on.

I have a new one, I am going to set it in the hot summer sun for a few days and see if I can pre-shrink before install. I guess if I wanted to get sophisticated I could measure it before and after, but I am guessing it is curly enough the measuring won't be easy. So I don't know if I will bother to try.

If smart I would probably set it by a window for the rest of the summer before install, but I am not very patient.

They do shrink don't they.
TRF used to sell finishing clips in 3 lengths to cover the gap. 1 1/2, 1 3/4 and 2 inch
FWIW the last time I saw I was going to need to replace the bead, I let a new one hang in the shed for 2 seasons and when I installed it, I let the ends overlap for a month before I made the final cut....here 10 years later the 2 inch long clip barely covers the gap
