continuing to clean and polish my recently acquired 58 bn6. sitting in the seat without the seat cushion placed me at eye level with the top ot the dash pad. and, lo and behold i noticed a gap where a portion of the windshield seal is not sealed/closed to the shroud. i know in todays reproduction seals that fit is not always very good! does anyone have a suggestion. the area not sealed is in the middle area of the base of the windshield and leaves a gap of 12 to 14 inches with a 1/8th gap! thanks in advance for any help or comments!
 
Is it a new seal that is not sealing? If so how is the body work? Is it recently painted? One thing I can think is the aluminum shroud is quite flexible in that area and not well supported underneath. It could be possible the shroud has been bowed down in that area and not the original slight upwards curve it should be. You could always reach up from underneath and push up on the underside of the shroud and see if it causes the seal to contact the shroud. If so I would suggest making a shim of sorts to place under the shroud between it and the scuttle. That would help it to stay sealed. I had no problem with our 57 BN4 and the repro seal, but I test fit everything while doing the body work for issues like this.
