Windshield rubber to body installation

How did you finish the rubber off - Bill Rawles tends to fold the rubber around the edge of the wings and using some super swishy sticker, glue them to the U/S on the BJ7 and BJ8s.

I cut a few slits out so it tucked in. I expect the bristleflex will hold it in place - maybe with a little help from some contact adhesive. Still waiting for the Bristleflex for the windows etc to arrive.

As you can see, I'm missing the bottom two screws in the pillar - anyone tell me what they would have held in place, as the piece is missing. I'm supposing it's a packing piece?
 
Yes that's about the correct way to finish it, according to my guru.

Re the missing screws, just had a peak at mine, there appears to be a piece of steel behind the chrome section say around 1/8 inch ish thick may be a tad thinner - some sort of bracket? possibly to reinforce the chrome section, could be tapped to receive the screws.
