TR6 Windshield installation problems

Is that outside "finishing molding" supposed to be installed "before" the window and gasket are pushed into place?

Only on a Tr4, with the alloy mld. The plastic "chrome" mld will press into the rubber with liquid soap
as the lube, with a little effort. Often it is used on the Tr4 if there is damage to the OE mlds.Looks fine
but not concourse.

Just an update. Put in the new windshield with a new gasket this time, and it fits much better. It was still a lot of work. I watched the episode in which the windshield was replaced on Rusty Beauties on YouTube first. That made it much more clear. Going slow and gradual so that there was no uneven pressure seemed to be the key. I still used the typical nylon cord which worked fine. Lots of soapy water too. Thank you for all the tips.

I used soapy water and a rubber mallet. Nervous about using the mallet, but I saw the guy on YouTube do it, and it went in quite quickly.

Glycerine is also highly recommended it is very good for rubber and in fact should be used
every year or so to keep them from weathering
