I posted this to the email lists with no luck so I thought that maybe one of you guys could help me out?

I'm looking for a late bugeye windshield frame in good condition. I need
to send my aluminum off to the annodizer but my fram has several 'nicks'
taken out of it. Does anyone have one lying around that they could part
with?

Thanks!

Nicks can be buffed out, chunks another matter.

Will it show Ben,or be covered by the rubber sealing strip?

It shows. This thread isn't getting alot of action so I guess Im screwed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

May have to make due with it and change it later. I just hate to install new glass and seals in there just to change later. Oh well.

Ben,
Do you have pics of the damage to your windshield frame? I have 2 frames here, one is better than the other. I'd like to compare your damaged frame to what I have. PM me with / for details.

Sorry missed the bugeye in your message, thought you were looking for a late model frame

Chris et al,

I think I figured out what caused the damage to the frame. It looks like the wipers were hitting the frame and causing the nicks over time. SOunds unlikely but the damage is in the same place on both sides of the frame.

Here are the pics of the two spots. They are along the bottom of the frame towards the glass.

Thanks!!!

the nicks generally come from the wipers hitting. i have similar damage only my damage is a lot more. that frame looks pretty good.
