TR2/3/3A Windshield frame Tenax fastners with small nylon spacers?

I boight some from TRF a while back, don't remember nylon spacers, though...

I think the spacers referred to was the small and quite thin plastic washers that were used under the male Tenax to keep from gouging or scratching the paint or chrome. I just looked in the Moss book and the plastic versions have been replaced with leather (part number 435-515) at 24 cents each!! I remember getting a small bag of 20 plastic ones for about $2.

Thanks for the info. I know someone who cracked his windshield when installing the Tenax so I was wondering if those washers were to take up clearance and keep the Tenax from hitting the glass?

Like Lou, I remember using them under the studs to protect the paint on the body. These "washers"are so thin that they would not alter the depth of the stud.

The longer ones sometimes cracked the glass when screwed in, hence the addition of the nylon washers. The washers I'm using measure about 0.030". Here's some info about it from Moss...

Looks like Moss doesn't sell the washers separately, at least the number in that tech note doesn't match on the web site.
Might be something at MMC that would work though

Those washers are 1/2" OD. Is that the one you meant to select? I would think that more like 1/4 to 5/16 OD would be what is needed.

Good point, Charley, I didn't look at the od. But the smallest od I see on MMC is 3/8". So maybe I should just withdraw the comment and let folks pick their own.

The nylon washers are still available from Moss, part # 315-168, ten to a pack. Bought them over 20 years ago and again recently under same part number. Below is a shot of my windscreen using them under the studs. You might just be able to see some of the closest ones. Also got some of the leather washers thinking they might be good for studs on the painted areas.
