Windscreen Wipers Parking

All:

Now that I have the wipers working on my 59 BE, they are parking in the "up," not "down" position. When I switch them off they will cycle until they park in that "up" position. Can someone tell how to adjust the park location? The motor is the electro-magnetic motor correct for the car. It does have a metal cap over the worm gear. The cap has a wire running to it. I have tried repositioning this cap, but the wipers continue to park in the same location.

Thanks,

MXP

Rotating the cap should change the parking position. If it doesn't you've got a loose wire or something's not connected correctly.

Keith:

For common reference, lets say the cap is in the 6 o'clock position. I rotated it to the 12 o'clock position, but then the wipers would not respond to the wiper switch at all - when I turned on power they just kept going until I cut off power. I moved it to the 3 o'clock position and the same thing happen. I've tried moving it to the 4-8 o'clock positions, where it parks in the "up" position, but always the same.

Inside the cap are electrical contacts. Might they need to be cleaned up?

My error, Keith. i have managed to get them to park correctly after rotating the cap (and adequately secure the motor cover).

Thanks,

or just reposition the wipers?
