Windscreen Surround

The windscreen surround on my '71 TR6 is a tatty-looking silver. How best to restore it to former glory? I think I've seen TR6s with body-colour surrounds, and black surrounds. Is silver correct for a '71?

Thanks!

71 should be a matte (or satin) black. just like the taillight area.

Try a can of Krylon Semi Flat black. Suggested to me
by another member as best match for original
color. Seemed to work well for me and matched the
black on the back of the car.

Same color with a two-part paint, I think, would hold
up a bit better, though, in hindsight, in my opinion.

Good point Don. If I had been thinking two years ago when mine was off, I would have done just that.

mail it to Dale. His wife needs another cruise. /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/devilgrin.gif
