Windscreen side seals?

I posted this to "the list" earlier and got no reply so I'll post here now too.

I have a windscreen in a frame that I'm going to replace the
one on the car with. I have new side and bottom seals thereto.

I've installed the bottom seal, but looking at the side seals
I see that there are screws holding the seals in? .. how on
earth did someone get screws in there? Do I go ahead and tear
out the old rubber and simply slide in the new seals without
the screws?
Has anyone replaced their side seals and come across this?

I think mine had a rivet just at the bottom.

I'm going to be replacing 'screens' seals, too and was wondering the same thing!

Bill, let's get together on July 18th and look at this. I have the same issue. I bought a pair from Mo$$ and they don't even stay in the channel. I heard there are other suppliers that might have a better fit, but the rivet is still necessary. I think it just keeps it from sliding out. I was thinking of using an adhesive to get a better fit. I'll measure the channel and look at some other sources to see if theirs differ in width. The fit is not even close.

I got mine from MacGregor. Their rubber products are superb.

Bill,

Can you post a link or contact info for MacGregor? I am not a fan of the products offered by VB and Moss.

I haven't yet taken out the old ones... was saving all that for the 18th..
