Windscreen rail to hood seal

Anyone had success sealing the hood to top windscreen rail on a bj8 mine leaks like a sieve and now the heatwave is over it’s reminded me to carry more wipes ! I have tried running a strip of trim across the hood sealing face but this just seems to ruck up and not seal very well. I think moss sell a seal but only seems to apply up to the bj7 has anyone had experience with this ?
 
I'm not sure how I read your post and thought you meant the bottom seal, it isn't as if you failed to use the word "top". I have removed my narrative about the bottom seal.

Thanks for your replies yes it will be the top seal, I am not with the car at the moment but I am sure that moss part no 682-360 is what needs to be replaced, how easy is it to install and how is it attached, are there any other parts glues etc needed ?
 
My original wood had warped like a propeller. I got a new replacement and there is still some water getting through. I have learned to carry green Frog Tape. Seals well and goes on even on wet surfaces and comes off with out a trace. Or you could just avoid the rain.
 
Give your passenger a large towel so they can dry the driver off----LOL

It’s not the passenger who gets wet it’s the driver, well I suppose I could convert to lhd to solve the problem.

I have had great success with mine, little or nothing through the top of the windscreen but a bit still through the lower seal on the LHS, and that is because some twerp cut the rubber seal back from the edge of the wing (fender) on both sides. I have tried the black goo after a trip to ----wait for it ---Wales last year, but missed a bit on the LH side so must re-apply there, otherwise seams OK. (pun intended)

Hi All,

I suggest you go through Steve Byers Convertible Top Installation instructions with specific focus on the latter instructions addressing this part of the installation. The issue, as I have experienced, is making sure the aluminum channel is not deformed and rubber seal is installed in position to properly interface with the Windscreen top frame member.
