I took apart my windscreen today to start making it pretty again, and was wondering what material the support posts are made of. I noticed they have a lot of texture, like rough casting or perhaps pitting. Are they aluminum or pot metal? If they are aluminum, I'm going to have a heck of a time making them smooth for polishing. If they are pot metal, I'd just assume having them chromed.
 
I think you are in the wrong forum! I have a Bugeye as well and those posts are made of aluminum and yes they can be polished but you will have to wet sand with progressively finer grit paper first to smooth them out and then buff to a high shine....
