From what I can tell, what you download is only an install program in ISO format. This is not a ready-to-go download. As far as installing the OS onto a USB drive, it sounds like it is possible, but a pain to do. I found a reference to the procedure on that link I provided earlier. There is a forum link on the bottom of that page. Try searching there. I don't think I'll use Win8 any time soon. There is a lack of touch screen monitors in stores. I'd like to test drive the touch feature before I buy one.
