Go down to the search box at the bottom of your screen. type in CMD then hit <enter key>.
In the new window that opens, type in VER then hit <enter key>.
You should get something like this:
Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19043.1165]
Let me know what yours shows.

The different versions aren't necessarily the problem.
Do you remember what app you ran to determine Windows 11 compatibility?
The one I use is:
Download, install, and post the results if you want. Might make it easier to determine the security issue you report. It's like the "secure boot" feature needed for Win11, but not sure yet.

Glad you got the info. Each manufacturer has different ways of enabling the secure boot; it's usually disabled if the BIOS boot mode is set to Legacy. Or it may not be included in your laptop's configuration and/or hardware.

Found out that The BIOS has to be changed to secure boot with no OP system installed, then reinstall system under secure boot. Tried it with windows 10 installed and no go! So I'm trying it on my other HP which is now in secure boot and W-11 excepts it. 
I don't want to mess up my other computer as it has too much information in it at the present time. At least I know what has to be done. PJ

Well, Windows 11 is in this computer. Downloaded the iso file from Microsoft and when completed, ( took about 2.5 hrs.) at 5.5 Gig, it gives you the option of installing it from the downloaded file, which that takes another hour. It works fine, haven't had time to go through all the changes, but it doesn't seem like there are too many. Seems to be a little faster than W-10.

Yes I think so Doc, I see no reason why it couldn't be set up that way. Actually on an old computer I don't use anymore has duel boot with windows 7 and Linux mint early version. It works very well if one doesn't mind it's Model T speed! I think it's processor dates back to the 1970s 
Doc, now that you mention it, I'm going to see if I can set this W-11 computer with duel boot and no conflicts. I'll use this one as a test bed, don't want to chance the other one yet.

We likely built the first of the AMD 486/66 machines in our area. 'Mits got a job for a national pet food outfit who wanted an animated digital "slide presentation" for their sales department, we bid it and won. Had to put together what could be loosely called an "animation platform" to do the job, so the fee covered the expense of the machine and software!

It is amazing just how far computer technology has come in such a short time. My first computer with a hard drive was 164 Meg! That's correct, 164Meg. Had to run it in compressed mode just to get windows 3.1 to fit in it. Stored everything on floppies, real 5 inch floppies! I wish I had kept that old machine just for the fun of it.
Seems like Windows 11 doesn't like being set up in dual boot mode, I put Linux in it and partitioned the drive for dual boot, but when booting up, W-11 takes over and covers up Linux. I even put Linux in first place and no go. Has to be a fix in there somewhere.
