Window weather seal repair

Friend just discovered a small leak through the front window weather stripping; heavy rain works its way in. Seems to be a slight gap where the seal meets the body. I traced the location by dripping water over various sections of the seal.

What's recommended for sealing that small gap? Just a bit of clear sealant like Liquid Nails Clear Seal? or a weatherstripping adhesive like 3M 08008 Black Super Weatherstrip Adhesive?

Tom, not sure if they still sell it, but boat dealers and Marine suppliers used to sell a clear windshield sealant that worked very well. My dad used it on his boat glass and was happy with it. As I remember it was very thin and would find a void and fill it in. PJ

Thanks Paul. I've found many marine sealants advertised, but none are identified as a thin liquid which finds the void and fills it. Sounds like exactly what I need.

you might also drop by a auto glass shop - they have special glue and tools for shooting under rubber and might just do it for free, or less than buying it.
