TR6 window regulator

I removed the window regulator on the passenger side, had to strengthen up the piece the handle attaches to reinstalled it put the door panel back on, put the handles back (pain installing the handle pins) everything looks great went back to my workbench and saw the big spring that I forgot to put on the front of the winder that clips on the door my question is what part does that spring play for the working of the window really do no twant to do that all over again Thanks

If it's the "clock spring" one I think you are talking about; then it serves as counter-weight for the weight of the glass. Without it, the window will be very hard to roll up, and likely increase wear in the winder mechanism.

Sundown, if your panel fits good and no rattle from that area, you will not be the first to discard that spring. It's even more of a pain to install the pin with it on.

I once forgot that spring. The door handle drooped and was loose. Re-installing the spring was a PITA but cured the problem.
