Has any body replaced the felt in the window rails? Moss wants $89 each X4 is a lot. They do have a felt replacement, is it worth trying to refelt the rails or just buy the new ones?

I got some generic rails that you had to rivet the fitting to on the end on Ebay, but I don't see them available anymore, this was a few years ago. I have not tried to replace just the felt, you would certainly want to do it right if it didn't stay put it would undoubtedly bind up and mess things up but good. I would recommend replacing or refurbishing if they look to be ratted out, rattly windows are no fun and make the car sound like a bucket of bolts when you go over a bump.

Thank you Berry! Great info.

The information was perfect! I did as instructed and for $15 there are no rattles and the windows work perfect! Thank you

I replaced the channels for around $45 plus shipping last winter while restoring my TR4 doors. I bought only the channels (Part Number 850430F) from Rimmer Brothers (see https://www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID200813 ) and attached my old brackets that I removed from the old channels.

Measured 3 or 4 times before cutting or drilling and they came out perfect, but it took hours and hours.
